Child Depression

Children, by their nature, they feel powerless in front of these situations and the consequences can be felt in adulthood. But what if your child does not fall into any of the above categories? This guarantees a stress-free childhood? Unfortunately, the answer is no. An important factor in child depression is that it can be an inherited vulnerability. Children with an intrinsic tendency to depression is likely a great breakdown caused by the desire to be accepted.

Because this is accompanied by an imbalance in the brain, can be easily deceived by the apparent ignoring behavioral attitude tiny clues that represent physical state of the child.

As happens in depressed adults, teaching the child may also be distorted. The child is more attentive to words and addresses and can get the impression that it is not loved, that is “bad”, even if these things are not all true.

The child does not realize that these impressions are untruths, on the contrary, he is under the impression that “this is life”

What can you do as a parent or teacher in such situations? The most important step is represented by recognizing the problem.

Recognition

To recognize when a child is depressed, it is necessary to know the symptoms and signs. Compared with adults, children do not know how to express emotions to be understood, no child will come and let you know “I’m depressed.”

In fact, many times, children do not realize that something unusual happens about mental state. They live in a world entirely controlled by adults and may feel deprived of any power against states that have them. The responsibility lies entirely on the shoulders of adults to find signs that warn if something happens.

Characteristic signs of depression are distributed in four children different categories:

1. emotional signs;
2. Cognitive signs;
3. physical signs;
4. behavioral signs.
